The Cobb Summer Singers is a proud ensemble of the William Baker Choral Foundation, Inc, which was first started in Atlanta in 1990 and now sponsors ten musical ensembles based in three states. Each year these ensembles involve over 500 men, women, and youth in the celebration of great music.

The Cobb Summer Singers was created by Lynn Swanson in 2006 as an independent organization, joining the Choral Foundation family of ensembles in 2008.  The chorus has enjoyed explosive growth, manifested in a 2014 performance of the Brahms EIN DEUTSCHES REQUIEM with the Orchestra of the American Heartland, one of the most successful concerts in the history of the Choral Foundation.

The Summer Singers is a concept that has been so successful that it has been imitated across the nation.  The Choral Foundation sponsors Summer Singers ensembles in Kansas City, Atlanta, Smyrna, GA, Lee’s Summit, MO and Cartersville, GA.

For the Tenth Anniversary Season of the Cobb Summer Singers, Lynn Swanson will lead the 100-voice chorus and the Orchestra of the American Heartland in George Frederic Handel’s majestic oratorio ISRAEL IN EGYPT.
There will be one performance on Sunday, August 9th.  Rehearsals begin Tuesday, June 9th.
NO AUDITION is required for membership in the Cobb Summer Singers, but music reading ability is a must. Choral experience is highly recommended.  All adults and mature youth are invited to participate.  (Youth under 16 may participate only if a parent or guardian is also a registered member of the Summer Singers.)
