Cobb Summer Singers is a proud ensemble of the William Baker Choral Foundation, Inc, first started in Atlanta in 1990 and now sponsors ten musical ensembles based in three states. These include the original Summer Singers of Atlanta, the William Baker Festival Singers, the Acworth-based Northside Young Singers (directed by Lynn Swanson) and the Cobb Festival Singers, also directed by Lynn Swanson. With the strength of the Choral Foundation behind us, our Cobb Summer Singers is planning a year of exceptional growth and musical enjoyment.

The centerpiece of our 2010 concert will be the profoundly beautiful SOLEMN VESPERS of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The work will be performed in its entirety with orchestra and soloists. Our diverse program will also include a selection of other classics, spirituals and folk hymns.

Because many singers desire to participate in both the Summer Singers of Atlanta and the Cobb Summer Singers simultaneously, we are moving our rehearsals to Tuesday evenings beginning this season. The first rehearsal is Tuesday, June 8th.  Rehearsals will be 7:00-9:15 in the Sanctuary of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, 63 Maple Avenue, just off the square in Marietta. Our concerts will be Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8.
