THE NORTHWEST GEORGIA SUMMER SINGERS will hold its first rehearsal on Thursday, June 9 at the Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

The Summer Singers will be a summer-only community chorus that will perform classical works, folk hymns, and spirituals in a fun, workshop-style environment.  The Northwest Georgia Summer Singers is the fourth such ensemble created by the Choral Foundation.  Other Summer Singers groups are based in Atlanta, Marietta and Kansas City.

The summer chorus will perform on Sunday evening, July 31st at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

NO AUDITION is required. The rehearsal schedule is somewhat flexible and is designed to accomodate family commitments and vacations.

You may choose to sing in more than one chorus this summer . . . Summer Singers of Atlanta and Cobb Summer Singers. You may find more information online regarding these opportunities.

Lynn Swanson, Music Director and Conductor, is a native of Marietta and has served the community as a leader in the musical arts for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from Shorter College and has  continued her studies in conducting with Alexander Mickelthwaite and Constantina Tsolineau.
