17th Annual Home Concert

The Home Concert of the William Baker Festival Singers of Kansas City is the annual culmination of our concert season, the very best of the very best.  The performance will be held on Friday evening, May 1st at 8:00 pm.  The concert will be held at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral, located at 415 West 13th Street (at Broadway) in Kansas City, MO.  We invite members, alumni and friends in the community to suggest their favorite selections from current concert season.  Suggestions may be sent by email to Mail@FestivalSingers.org by April 1, 2015.  Tickets are$20 for adults; $15 for students & +65; Under 12 are free. LSFS Season Finale Concert

The Lynn Swanson Festival Singers conclude a thrilled 6th season with a performance of favorites from throughout the 2014-2015 concert season.  The performance will be held on Sunday Afternoon, May 3rd at 3:00 pm. The concert will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located 2922 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta.  The LSFS looks forward to a return visit to the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston. Tickets are$15 for adults; $10 for students & +65; Under 12 are Free.

3rd Annual Kenneth Babcock Memorial Concert – April 12

The William Baker Festival Singers of Kansas City present the The 3rd Annual Kenneth Babcock Memorial Masterworks Concert, Celebrating the Music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: CORONATION MASS, VENI SANCTUS SPIRITUS, & EXSULTATE JUBILATE.  The chorus will be joined with members of the Kansas City Symphony, Sarah Tannehill Anderson, soprano, Kristee Haney, mezz-soprano, David Adams, tenor, and Paul Davidson, baritone.  The concert will be held on Sunday Afternoon, April 12th at 2:00 pm.  The location is Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral at 415 W 13th Street (at Broadway) in downtown Kansas City.  Tickets are $20 adults; $15 students & +65; Under 12 Free and available at the Door or online at Eventbrite.  For Information Call 913-403-9223 or email Mail@FestivalSingers.org

Annual Piccolo Spoleto Bon Voyage Concert – May 17

The William Baker Festival Singers of Atlanta have thrilled capacity audiences at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival annually since 1989.  The Piccolo Spoleto Bon Voyage Concert will be an Atlanta preview of the performance that will be given by the Festival Singers on Memorial Day in Charleston.  This concert will also be the last performance by the Festival Singers that will be conducted by William Baker in Atlanta.  Advance purchase and early arrival is recommended.  The performance will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 17th at 3 pm. Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and other works by Jewish Composers – April 14

Each year on the weekend of the Super Bowl, the William Baker Festival Singers offer mid-winter concerts on each side of the state line.  If football is not for you, the performances offer a respite from Super Bowl frenzy.  If you are a football fan, rest assured that our Sunday concert will end soon enough for you to be in front of the television with snacks in hand.

The first season (1985-1986) of the Festival Singers culminated with a performance of the Brahms EIN DEUTSCHES REQUIEM.  As William Baker retires as Music Director & Conductor of the WBFS-Atlanta following the 2014-2015 season, it is fitting that his last masterwork performance with the original Festival Singers ensemble be the one that has been such an important part of the ensemble’s history.
