Northwest Georgia Summer Singers Concert

The Northwest Georgia Summer Singers concert will be held on August 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm.  The ensemble is lead by Charles Nelson.  The performance is at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 824 West Avenue in Cartersville, GA.  Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Cobb Summer Singers Concert – Aug. 10

The Cobb Summer Singers and the Orchestra of the American Heartland, led by Conductor Lynn Swanson, will have their annual concert on Sunday, August 10th at 7:00 pm.  The concert will feature Johannes Brahms: A GERMAN REQUIEM, with English Translation by Robert Shaw.  The perfomance will be held at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church, located at 2160 cooper Lake Road in Smyrna, GA.  All seats are $25, and advance purchase is recommended. Summer Singers of Atlanta Concert – Aug 3

The 25th Anniversary Concert of the Summer Singers of Atlanta will feature Mozart’s REQUIEM and American Works of Mozart’s Time, with the Orchestra of the American Heartland and Dr. William O. Summer Singers of Kansas City Concerts – Aug 16/17

The Summer Singers of Kansas City, with members of the Kansas City Symphony, will host two concerts on Saturday evening August 16th (7 pm) and Sunday afternoon August 17 (2 pm) featuring the works of Georg Frideric Handel.  The performance will include Dettingen Te Deum, Coronation Anthems and the Water Music Suite.  Both concerts will be held at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, located at Broadway at 13th Street in downtown Kansas City, MO.  Tickets are $20 adults; $15 students & +65; Under 12 free.  Tickets may be purchased at the door, by phone 913-403-9223, or online at www.FestivalSingers.org.

POSITION AVAILABLE MUSIC DIRECTOR & CONDUCTOR

The William Baker Choral Foundation announces an employment opening for the position of Music Director & Conductor of the ensemble known since 1998 as the William Baker Festival Singers of Atlanta. It was created in 1985 as the Gwinnett Festival Singers.  Applications will be accepted through September 15, 2014, with the goal of an appointment by January 1, 2015.  The position will begin June 1, 2015, for the 31st concert season of the ensemble in 2015-2016.  Compensation will include base salary and performance incentives.

Responsibilities will include all phases of building and leading a major semi-professional choral ensemble.  The successful candidate will possess appropriate education in choral leadership, and will have demonstrated proven success with professional, community, church and/or school choral programs.

Piccolo Spoleto Concert
