Christine Freeman, Director, Kansas City Youth Chamber Singers


c_smithChristine Freeman is a music educator in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, instructing kindergarten through eighth grade general and choral music. She earned her Bachelor in Music Education in 2004 from the University of Kansas, where she studied voice and performed her senior recital in 2004 under Marci Ziegler. She is currently working towards her Masters in Choral Pedagogy at the University of Kansas. She is in her second season of membership with the William Baker Festival Singers. She was appointed Student Intern for the 2007-2008 season, beginning her tenure in June of 2007. She has conducted works of Palestrina and Hassler in Kansas City concerts this season, and has appeared as a featured soloist with the Summer Singers of Kansas City, and as a part of the Christmas Atlanta Festival. She will conduct the Festival Singers and members of the Kansas City Symphony in Vivaldi’s Beatus Vir in performance on March 28, 2008.

Christine is originally from Topeka, KS where her family is also very involved in community musical endeavors.
