Kathryn Huey


Kathryn Huey is a native of Tallahassee, Florida, where she studied music at The Florida State University.  Her musical and theatrical experience range from light opera to experimental  theater, and from Bach to Gershwin and Brel.   Kathryn’s favorite musical experiences include performing with The Scamps, a  world-renowned Kansas City jazz band, singing as the contralto concertist in  J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and teaching voice to rock and roll singers.   Kathryn is a soloist with the William Baker Festival Singers of Kansas City, as well as a professional church musician.   She has been a member of the Festival Singers since 2001, and has served on the Board of Trustees of the William Baker Choral Foundation since June of 2007, most recently as Chair.  She is the musical conductor of Lawrence Festival Singers.  Kathy and her husband Marvin reside in Lawrence, KS.
