Marilyn Altman

Marilyn Altman is a native of Jackson, MS. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Latin (Millaps College) and Vocal Performance (Florida State University), as well as a Masters Degree in Opera Performance from Binghamton University. Her ten-year career as professional soprano included leading roles at Cincinnati Opera and in Tel Aviv, as well as work as a soloist with the Oratorio Society of New York and the Canton Symphony Orchestra.

After retiring from the stage, Ms. Altman served as Executive Director of Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, NY, then was recruited to Silicon Valley where she was director of operations for iUniverse.com, a start-up specializing in e-publishing. She now lives in Atlanta, where she is Senior Director of Technical Services at ARRIS Solutions, a leading vendor to the worldwide cable industry.

Ms. Altman enjoys performing with the Atlanta Festival Singers and spending time with husband Dan Gaylord (an accomplished set and lighting designer for opera and theatre) and children Samantha and Kate.
