Mary Puetz
Mary Puetz, a native of Iowa, received her vocal music degrees from the University of Iowa and the University of Oklahoma. She was a charter member of the William Baker Festival Singers of Kansas City and also served as soprano section leader, soloist, Vocal Coach, and Associate Music Director during her tenure from 1998 – 2001. She also sang with Summer Singers of Kansas City and WBFS of Atlanta. Ms. Puetz’s musical background is varied and includes engagements as a soloist and professional musician for churches in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa, roles in opera and musical productions in Oklahoma and Iowa, and working for nonprofit arts-based organizations in Oklahoma and Iowa. She also was part of a Choral Union which performed in 2011 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She is currently active in community theater productions, community choir, and symphony orchestra choruses.
Ms. Puetz is Senior Quality Assurance Manager for Hematech, Inc., a subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko Kirin Company, Ltd. The company, headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is currently developing cattle that can efficiently produce human antibodies. She works primarily at the bovine research facility located in Hull, Iowa. She also is active in the several quality-related organizations including Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, American Society for Quality, and Society of Quality Assurance where she most recently served a three-year term as Chair of the Animal Health Section as well as being a member of the Biotechnology Section and Program Committee.
