The William Baker Festival Singers & Chamber Orchestra presents a deeply moving concert featuring the cantata MEMBRA JESU NOSTRI of Dietrich Buxtehude. The collection of six short cantatas commemorting Jesus on the cross will be interspersed reverent American folk hymns, and framed by two settings of traditional anthems for the adoration of the cross, one by Russell-Schwartz-Widmar, and another by Kansas City composer Geoff Wilcken. The annual concert remembers the encouragement and philanthropy of Kenneth Charles Babcock, 1941-2013.
