The Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit was created in 2014 to serve the growing Kansas City area communities of Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Independence, Lake Lotawana, and beyond. The 75-member chorus has performed concerts of diverse classics, including Mozart's Missa Brevis in D and Coronation Mass, Handel: Coronation Anthems and choruses from Messiah, Vivaldi: Gloria and Beatus Vir; Haydn: The Creation and Fauré Requiem, each presented with distinguished soloists and members of the Kansas City Symphony.
The Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit was led by music director Jennifer Lahasky in 2020-2024. In 2022, the chorus performed the Requiem of Gabriel Fauré. In 2023, the Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit presented an acclaimed performance of Donald McCullough’s Holocaust Cantata in collaboration with local rabbis and artwork from the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy students. Dr. William O. Baker returns as Music Director and Conductor for the 2025 season and has appointed Niccole Williams, MME, as Associate Music Director.
